Medicare Advantage Plans

As a member, you know you can expect a high level of service and coverage from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana. Our affordable all-in-one Medicare Advantage plans are no different. No matter which you choose, you’ll get all the coverage of Original Medicare, plus extra health and wellness benefits, and prescription drug coverage.

Blue Cross Medicare Advantage (PPO) ^SM Plans – plan options that offer more flexibility

• Offer a suite of PPO options
• Keep your costs lower when you use in-network providers
• Provide the freedom to see doctors, hospitals and providers outside of the plan's network, no referrals needed, but you may pay higher copays and coinsurance
• Offer extra health and wellness benefits such as vision, dental, hearing, fitness and more
• Choose from options that may or may not include drug coverage
• Options include an open-access plan allowing the flexibility to see doctors, hospitals, and providers inside or outside of the plan's network with no copays or coinsurance for medical services
• Medicare Advantage plans may offer a preloaded flexible spending card to help reduce your out-of-pocket expenses for covered dental, vision, and hearing services. It's the easy way to pay for healthcare without having to pay cash up-front.
• Plans may include a Part B Premium Reduction benefit. This benefit reduces the Medicare Part B premium that you pay the Social Security Administration either monthly or quarterly, depending on how you pay your Part B premium.

Medicare Supplement Insurance Plans

Medicare Supplement Insurance Plans help offer protection from the out-of-pockets costs not covered by Original Medicare. If you’re eligible for Medicare, you’re also eligible for a Medicare Supplement Insurance Plan. If you’re at least 65 years old, you are eligible if you are enrolled in Medicare Parts A and B, and a resident of Montana. If you are under 65 and disabled, you are eligible to apply once you have been informed of your eligibility for Medicare by disability.

With Original Medicare, your copays, deductibles and other out-of-pocket costs can really add up. Our Medicare Supplement Insurance plans can help fill the gaps that Original Medicare does not cover, while giving you the freedom to see any doctor and use any hospital that accepts Medicare, nationwide.

Explore our Premium Discounts

A Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana (BCBSMT) premium discount may be available. Eligibility criteria are described below. If you are eligible for a discount, the discount will be applied to your next bill and remain in effect as long as you are enrolled in your BCBSMT Medicare Supplement Plan. Discounts cannot be combined; only one type of discount per member is permitted.

Spousal/Partner Discount

You may be eligible for a discount if you enrolled in a BCBSMT Medicare Supplement Policy issued with an effective date on or after May 1, 2022, and you reside with a spouse or domestic partner.

Continue with Blue^SM Discount

You may be eligible for a discount if you enrolled in a BCBSMT Medicare Supplement policy issued with an effective date on or after May 1, 2023, and you were enrolled in a Blue Cross and Blue Shield commercial group or individual health insurance coverage plan and that coverage was within one year of your BCBSMT Medicare Supplement policy becoming effective.

Blue Family Discount^SM

You may be eligible for a discount if you enrolled in a BCBSMT Medicare Supplement policy issued with an effective date on or after May 1, 2024, and you meet the criteria for both the Spousal/Partner Discount AND the Continue with Blue Discount.
